Higher-Order Thinking
This workshop will address the need for focusing on higher order thinking in questioning students, in creating assignments, in providing choice and challenge, in recognizing the higher from the lower orders by revisiting Bloom’s Taxonomy and its newly readjusted framework. This topic can be packaged as a workshop from a single session to multiple days.
Creative Teaching
This practical workshop helps teachers and administrators:
– Gain confidence in their own ability to reach and teach from their strengths so they can elicit students’ strengths and creativity
– Access their ability to think and act more creatively in the classroom to meet the needs of diverse learners.
– Enhance learning by engaging, motivating, and inspiring students with an array of research-based, creative teaching strategies.
– Learn how to identify creativity that furthers educational goals for each student.
Engaging Literacy
Although the stakes are terribly high, the atmosphere of this workshop will be one of joy and empowerment, confidence and curiosity. Teachers will be sked to participate in experiences that will be able to be translated to their own content with little difficulty. The heart of this workshop is based on classroom-based practice, with many student samples and the assignments that can be translated into many areas of the curriculum. This workshop should give classroom teachers a concrete place to start and to guide their focus.
